We are currently offering Broad Breasted White turkey poults. They grow fast, and are nice meaty birds, but they are not able to reproduce, as a heritage breed would.  We are hoping to find a breed, that would meet both of these requirements. Unfortunately, most heritage breeds are more tall and lean than they are meaty, so their feed to meat ratio is not very good, meaning they eat as much as a more plump  bird would, but it goes more to bone than to meat. They taste great, and make wonderful bone broth, but let's just say they won't feed a very big crowd come Thanksgiving time. So, until we can find the breed we are looking for, these will be the birds we will be offering. They still free range well, and consume an enormous amount of grass, weeds, seeds and bugs, in addition to whatever supplemental feed you prefer. They taste great and make a beautiful presentation for your holiday table.

Poults


Baby turkeys can be challenging to raise. Most people say they are just looking for an excuse to die. So, with that being said, we offer 6 week old turkey poults, for those of you who would like to raise your own turkeys, but do not want to deal with the hassle and uncertainty of raising them from day old poults. You must pre-order by March 15th. The poults will be 6 weeks and ready for pick up July 13th. For optimal size, they will be ready to butcher at 16 weeks, which is the week of September 16th, 2024.
